It has been said that Collin County employees “don’t vote.”  If this is true, it may be because they simply don’t like any of the candidates or they feel their vote won’t make a difference.  Whatever the reason, a non-vote is a figurative ballot for the candidate who wins an election. When you don’t vote, you become irrelevant.

Sheriff's office gets new wheels

  The Collin County Sheriff's Office is purchasing 11 new specialized SUVs to help negotiate the off-road and uneven terrains of a rural environment. The Ford Patrol Interceptors will be bought for $331,000 from Philpott Motors through BuyBoard, a local government purchasing cooperative. The funds were budgeted in the 2013 fiscal year using capital vehicle replacement funds.

County looks at employee compensation
Human resource director Cynthia Jacobson presented the court with plans to compare employee compensation and benefits to employees of similar counties and cities. Jacobson said the complex study will allow the county to adjust salaries and wages as needed.
