WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET A COMPLAINT?   There have been questions brought up to the Association’s board recently regarding complaints against peace/detention officers.  Texas Government Code Chapter 614 lays out clear guidelines a law enforcement agency must follow regarding their ability to act with disciplinary measures against an officer.  Below is Section 614.

Recruiting Drive

The Collin County Deputies Association will be conducting a recruiting drive starting April 1st, 2013.  The drive will last 90 days, and will end on July 1st, 2013.  How it works All current members of the association who have been enrolled at least six months from April 1st may participate in the recruiting drive.

Commissioners court says deputies haven’t been shot at enough; residents don’t deserve adequate protection

During the 2012 Collin County budget process in 2011, Sheriff Box showed the court that Collin County was far behind other area sheriff’s offices in the deputy to citizen ratio. He asked for and received three additional patrol positions, an additional motorcycle position and a canine replacement. This brought the officer to citizen ratio (for patrol) to 1/2259.

Membership Meeting
The Collin County Deputies Association would like to thank Commissioner Chris Hill and everyone else for attending our quarterly meeting. The association had successful voting to fund participation in the Plano Balloon Festival, upcoming McKinney Police Association's golf tournament, and we will be sending two representatives to this years TMPA conference in Austin. Remember, the recruiting drive is still ongoing and all prizes are still available.
