Operation: Blue Christmas was completed this morning. Please watch WFAA Channel 8 news tonight at 10 pm to watch the story. The kids reactions were priceless. I will post a link to the videos and pictures in the coming days.
The Deputies Association has had inquiries into the ability to donate to the Blue Christmas family. As a result, we have opened a fund at Wells Fargo under the name Blue Christmas family account #7742321453. If you are interested in donating to the family you can go into any Wells Fargo location and give them that account name to deposit in. Thank you all for your support of us and the family this year.
The Deputies Association has chosen a family for our Blue Christmas this year. The family lives in Frisco and consists of a single parent with two children. Kirk is 4 years old and is undergoing Leukemia treatment, however is a vibrant little boy. Keith is 7 years old and is suffering from Type 1 diabetes forcing him to wear a 24 hour insulin pump. After review we decided this family would most benefit from our sponsorship in 2014. We have already begun the shoppin process and have an email in to Santa to see if he can help. We anticipate a delivery a few days prior to Christmas.
Santa is a great supporter of law enforcement, so it's my anticipation that he will be in town for this special event. I also believe he will be dressed in a blue suit to support law enforcement around the world, however will be bearing the patches of our represented agencies in the association. If you would like to help out with the delivery, please email email@example.com to sign up.
We will also be donating various items to the Children's Medical Center in Plano's teen room. This is a common area that teenage cancer patients go to "hang out" while in the hospital. The juvenile room is more than taken care of with donations, so we want to help where help is normally slim.
We will keep everyone updated on how everything is coming along and on the delivery. Stay safe out there.
